Members of the New Orleans Police Department are investigating a shooting that left an unknown male dead Wednesday afternoon. The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of family members. The offense occurred shortly after 1:40 p.m., in the 2800 block of Comus St.
According to investigators, Fifth District officers responded to a call of a medical alert. Upon their arrival, Investigators found an unknown male unresponsive in the home on Comus St. The victim appeared to have sustained an undetermined amount of gunshot wounds. Emergency Medical Technicians pronounced the male dead on scene.
Detectives are in the process of gathering information to identify the person(s) responsible for this offense and a motive.
