The NOPD is investigating a double shooting that left one dead and one injured in the Seventh District.
On August 10, 2019 around 9:43 p.m., Seventh District officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 7200 block of Bunker Hill Road. While traveling to the scene, officers were advised that two victims were struck by gunfire.
Upon arrival, officers summoned EMS to render aid to both victims. One adult male victim was pronounced dead on scene. One adult female victim was transported to an area hospital by EMS.
Investigators are still currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible in this incident, as well as a motive.
The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will determine official cause of death and release the victim's name, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
