Suspect Wanted for Illegal Possession of Stolen Property

The NOPD is seeking assistance in locating Joseph Cuccia (DOB: 01/10/1975), after he was observed on surveillance video utilizing a debit card that was reported stolen during a residential burglary that occurred in the 2200 block of Cobblestone Lane.

The victim told police that he returned to his residence at or around 4 p.m. on August 3, 2018, and observed his front window was smashed in. He then entered the residence and discovered the interior of his residence ransacked and items were missing from inside. The victim reportedly attempted to withdraw money from his bank account and was advised that his account was over drawn. After further investigation, the victim learned that there were several unauthorized ATM charges on his debit card.

During the course of the investigation, Cuccia was positively identified as the perpetrator who was in possession of the victim’s debit card. Officers reviewed surveillance video from a store where the victim’s debit card was reportedly used and observed Cuccia utilizing the victim’s stolen debit card at the ATM machine.

Anyone with any information regarding Joseph Cuccia’s whereabouts is asked to contact Fourth District detectives at 504-658-6040. Citizens with information that can help solve crimes are asked to call Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111 or toll-free at 1-877-903-STOP.
