Suspect Wanted for Domestic Aggravated Assault, Simple Assault & Felon in Possession of a Firearm

The NOPD is seeking assistance in locating Ravanell Williams (09/12/1977) after he was accused of pointing a handgun at a victim in the Seventh District.

The victim told police that at or around 9:30 a.m. on August 12, 2018, while standing in the driveway in the 4500 block of Ray Avenue, she observed Williams traveling southbound on Ray Avenue at a slow pace, at which time he leaned toward the passenger window and allegedly pointed a handgun at her and threatened to kill her.

Williams reportedly contacted the victim repeatedly throughout the day and allegedly threatened to shoot up the victim’s house because he was reportedly angry that the victim notified the police of a previous incident they were involved in that occurred on August 11, 2018, near the intersection of Dale and Warfield streets.

During the course of the investigation, officers learned that Williams was a convicted felon. When located, Williams should be charged with domestic aggravated assault, simple assault and convicted felon in possession of a firearm.

Williams is described as a black male, approximately 6’2 tall, with a “Rick Ross” style full beard. The subject was last seen driving a brown 2017 Nissan Maxima.

Anyone with any information regarding Ravanell Williams’ whereabouts is asked to notify Seventh District detectives at 504-658-6070. Citizens with information that can help solve crimes are asked to call Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111 or toll-free at 1-877-903-STOP.
