NOPD Identifies Suspect in Attempted Homicide at I-10 and Crowder Boulevard

NOPD Identifies Suspect in Attempted Homicide at I-10 and Crowder Boulevard

The NOPD has obtained an arrest warrant for Nas Jackson (09-11-1998) in connection with a shooting incident that occurred on August 1, 2018 in the area of Interstate 10 West at Crowder Boulevard and left three people injured.

At around 12:21 p.m., five occupants were traveling eastbound in a single vehicle on I-10 West near Crowder Boulevard when an unknown vehicle pulled next to the victims and opened fire. The vehicle then fled off the interstate onto the service road.

Three victims were injured in the shooting, including a 16-year-old juvenile male with a gunshot wound to the leg, a 22-year-old male with gunshot wounds to the leg and forearm and a 2-year-old juvenile male with graze wounds to the shoulder and sternum. The victims were transported to an area hospital via EMS for treatment of injuries and all victims are in stable condition.

Additionally, an adult female and 3-year-old juvenile female were also present with the victims at the time of the shooting incident, but did not suffer injuries.

During investigation, Seventh District detectives learned that Jackson was reportedly involved in an ongoing dispute with the victims and was allegedly directly involved in this shooting. Based on this information, an arrest warrant was obtained for Jackson on charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault with a firearm and illegal use of a firearm.
