The NOPD has arrested Romg Stewart (DOB: 04-10-1995) after Stewart was found in possession of a reported stolen handgun on August 22, 2018.
At about 11:20 p.m., NOPD Seventh District officers responded to a report of a suspicious person in the area of Boston Drive and Bunker Hill Road. During investigation, a subject later identified as Stewart was detained and found to be in possession of a handgun which was concealed on his person. A check on the firearm’s serial number revealed it was reported stolen from the 7700 block of Dorsett Drive.
Stewart was arrested and booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center for illegal carrying of a weapon and illegal possession of a stolen firearm.
