VOWS Unit Apprehends Two

The NOPD’s Violent Offender Warrant Squad (VOWS) unit arrested two additional individuals this morning (Aug. 17) including suspects wanted in connection with aggravated assaults, aggravated battery and a domestic aggravated assault.

 

Kuashika Stephen (DOB: 9/19/1988) for aggravated battery (2 counts), aggravated assault (3 counts) and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.  The incident occurred at Benson Street and Curran Boulevard on August 14, 2017, and he was arrested in the 8500 block of North I-10 Service Road in the Seventh District.  (photo not available)

 

Nolan Bajoie (DOB: 8/29/1967) for domestic aggravated assault and second degree battery. The incident occurred in the 2400 block of Wisteria Drive on August 13, 2017. Bajoie was apprehended in the 4400 block of Cerise Street in the Seventh District.

The Violent Offender Warrant Squad (VOWS) is responsible for tracking down individuals who are wanted for serious crimes and apprehending suspects with outstanding warrants. This unit operates within the NOPD’s Special Operations Division and works in conjunction with the United States Marshals Office Fugitive Task Force. In 2016 the unit was responsible for more than 500 arrests.
