Seventh District officers arrested Hassan Dickson (DOB:11-14-1992) for illegal carrying of a weapon on Friday, August 24, 2017.
At about 4:35 p.m., Detectives Alexander Kelly and Darius Henry attempted to conduct a suspicious person stop at the intersection of Chef Menteur Highway and Stemway Drive. As officers attempted to approach Dickson, he fled North on Stemway Drive and discarded a firearm to the ground.
After a brief foot pursuit, Dickson was apprehended and officers were able to retrieve a blue steel Beretta, 9 m.m. firearm.
Dickson was transported to Central Lock-up and booked accordingly.
