NOPD is investigating a fatal crash that occurred near the I-10 East Louisa/Almonaster exit this morning (Aug. 12).
At approximately 2:07 a.m. NOPD Traffic Fatality Investigators responded to a car crash under the elevated portion of the I-10 East Almonaster/Louisa exit. Upon arrival they found a black 2010 BMW 528 with two black male occupants.
A witness told officers that the BMW rode the guardrail of the interstate before flying over the side of the elevated portion of the roadway and landing near the Almonaster westbound lanes of traffic. The vehicle then flipped several times before coming to rest upside down. The occupants of the vehicle were pronounced at the scene.
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office releases victims’ names and official cause of death.
