The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred on the evening of April 20, 2023, in the 7000 block of Lawrence Road that left a teenaged victim dead.
At about 9:55 p.m., NOPD Seventh District officers responded to a call of a shot person at the location. Upon arrival, officers located a teenaged juvenile male victim down at the location and having sustained a gunshot wound. The victim was declared deceased on scene.
Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive. No additional details are currently available.
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victim and official cause of death upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
