NOPD Arrests Multiple Suspects on Outstanding Warrants During Roundup Operation

During the week of April 14-19, 2024, the NOPD Special Operations Division conducted an operation to enact arrest warrants on multiple suspects in violent crime cases.

Incidents that were cleared by arrest during this operation include the following: two (2) homicide cases; eight (8) aggravated battery by shooting or attempted aggravated battery by shooting cases; four (4) armed robbery incidents, two arrests for illegal possession of a firearm; six (6) felony domestic battery cases; one narcotics case; three auto theft arrests; seven firearms seized; six search warrants enacted; and eighth other incidents including municipal and fugitive attachments.

“I commend our investigators and our Special Operations Division on their tireless efforts in locating and arresting those wanted for committing violent crimes and removing them from the streets of our city,” NOPD Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick said. “This operation shows that no matter how much time may have passed or where violent offenders may run, the NOPD will not stop searching and will not rest until those who commit violent crimes in our city are in custody and held accountable.”

These arrests come in addition to arrests made by the NOPD in two recent shooting incidents – a homicide on April 7, 2024, at The Witt’s Inn in the 100 block of North Carrollton Avenue and a shooting that occurred at the end of Mardi Gras in the 100 block of Royal Street.
