Suspects Identified in Seventh District Catalytic Converter Thefts

The NOPD has positively identified Kodi Kingston (pictured at left, DOB: 01-30-1993) and Averice Craddock (pictured at right, DOB: 12-31-1978) as suspects in connection with the theft of catalytic converters from vehicles in the Seventh District.

On Thursday, April 9, 2020 at approximately 9:00 a.m., Saint Bernard Parish Sheriff’s deputies observed Kingston and Craddock parked in the parking lot of a closed used car lot. The subjects were in possession of nine catalytic converters and battery powered reciprocating saws. The two subjects were charged by Saint Bernard Parish for attempted theft, as the subjects had not yet began cutting the converters from the vehicles but were believed to be preparing to do so.

St. Bernard Parish deputies notified NOPD Seventh District detectives were advised of the arrests, and detectives interviewed Kingston. Through investigation, detectives determined that the pair had previously cut the fence to a business’ parking lot in the Seventh District and cut numerous catalytic converts from vehicles parked there.

As the subjects were in the custody of the Saint Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office, warrants for their arrests were generated and will be acted on upon their release.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact NOPD Seventh District detectives at 504-658-6070.
