The NOPD is seeking the public’s assistance with identifying and locating a suspect seen on surveillance video in the investigation of a homicide that occurred on April 5, 2020 in the 2600 block of Dumaine Street.

Just before 3:00 p.m., NOPD First District officers responded to a call of an aggravated battery by shooting at the location. Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male victim down and unresponsive. The victim was transported to a local hospital via EMS, where he later expired. At that point, NOPD Homicide Unit investigators assumed control of the investigation.

Video surveillance near the scene captured footage of an unknown male suspect armed with an assault rifle exiting a tan SUV at the intersection of North Broad and Dumaine streets. The suspect was seen chasing the victim into the 2600 block of Dumaine Street, where the victim was found by police, and then fleeing the scene.
