NOPD Investigating Homicide in the Fifth District

New Orleans – The NOPD is investigating a homicide after a body was discovered on April 14, 2015 (Tuesday), and originally determined to be an unclassified death.

At around 2:53 p.m., NOPD Fifth District officers responded to the 4000 block of Rocheblave Street after a man was found lying in a field.  The man was unresponsive, and EMS pronounced him dead at the scene.  The victim had no visible signs of trauma, and the incident was deemed an unclassified death.  However, after an autopsy conducted on April 15, 2020 (today) the signal for this incident has been changed to homicide.

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will release the name of the victim after the notification of family.

Homicide Detective Christopher Puccio is in charge of this ongoing investigation and can be reached at 504-658-5300 with any additional information.  Those with information can also call anonymously to Crimestoppers of Greater New Orleans at 504-822-1111 or toll-free 1-877-903-STOP.
