Suspects Sought in Eighth District Theft Incidents

The NOPD is seeking to locate and identify suspects in three theft incidents believed to be unrelated and reported in the Eighth District.

On March 27, 2019, at about 10:04 a.m., NOPD Eighth District detectives learned that a victim had left his backpack – containing his 12-inch Apple MacBook Pro, car key and scooter key – in the bar area of an establishment in the 600 block of Carondelet Street. Upon returning, he opened the backpack and observed the above listed items missing. A review of surveillance footage revealed the unknown black male subject pictured above at left enter the location and remove the items from the backpack and exit the location in an unknown direction.

On March 9, 2019, the unknown black female pictured above at right reportedly entered the location in the 900 block of Canal Street and removed the victim’s wallet from the top of the bar. The subject then fled the location on foot.

On March 15, 2019, the victim told police that she had set her purse on the floor near her chair while at a business in the 500 block of Canal Street. The two unknown males pictured above at bottom were seen to have entered the location. The subject holding the umbrella then reportedly used the umbrella to pull the victim’s purse over to him while the other subject stood to shield the action. The first subject took possession of the purse and the two subjects fled the location.

Anyone with information regarding these incidents or the pictured subjects is asked to contact Eighth District detectives at 504-658-6080, or to call anonymously to Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111 or toll-free at 1-877-903-STOP.
