Suspect Sought by NOPD for Harassment in Eighth District

The NOPD has obtained an arrest warrant for Daniel Paul Andelin (DOB: 03-08-1973) in connection with a harassment incident that occurred on March 30, 2019 in the 800 block of Chartres Street.

At about 12:20 p.m., NOPD Eighth District officers responded to the location for a disturbance call. Upon arrival, officers spoke to the reporting person, who said that she and her husband had received voicemails described as alarming on her work phone from an unknown individual calling from two 941 area phone numbers. The reporting person told police that she felt the caller was Andelin, who she knew and who had been previously arrested for allegedly assaulting her husband in 2015.

The reporting person said she had also learned that Andelin was allegedly returning to New Orleans after living out of state, and that she and her husband feared for their safety.

Based on the findings of their investigation, detectives requested and were able to obtain an arrest warrant for Andelin on a charge of harassment through use of telecommunications devices and improper language.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Daniel Paul Andelin is asked to contact NOPD Eighth District detectives at 504-658-6080, or to call anonymously to Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111 or toll-free at 1-877-903-STOP.
