NOPD Makes Quick Arrests in Second District Auto Burglaries

The NOPD has arrested an 18-year-old man and four juveniles for burglarizing several cars in the Second District.

 

On Wednesday, April 3, 2019, around 10:30 p.m., Second District officers responded to a call for service in the 6000 block of Constance Street reporting a group of individuals breaking vehicle windows in the block.

 

With the knowledge of the recent rash of car burglaries in the Second District as well as in Orleans Parish, officers converged in the area and found, apprehended, and identified five subjects believed to be responsible for multiple incidents of criminal damage, attempted burglary of vehicles, and burglary of vehicles.

 

Four of the five subjects apprehended are juvenile males were transported to the Juvenile Justice Center and booked accordingly.

 

One suspect, Joshua Hobley (B/M DOB: 03/12/2001), was transported to the Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office booking facility where he will be booked as an adult.

 

The tan SUV used during the commission of these crimes was reported stolen from the 4700 block of Gawain Street in the Seventh District on Wednesday, April 3, 2019.

 

All subjects apprehended in connection with the incidents that occurred in the Second District are residents of Orleans Parish from neighborhoods in the Sixth, Third, and Seventh districts.

 

This investigation remains open and active as Second District Investigators are looking into additional reports of incidents that transpired around the same time in the area.

Additional charges may be forthcoming as the investigation continues.
