NOPD Arrests Juvenile Suspect in Seventh District Armed Carjacking

The NOPD has arrested a 15-year-old juvenile male suspect in connection with an armed carjacking incident that occurred on April 7, 2019 in the 13900 block of Dwyer Road.

At about 2:03 p.m., as the victim was seated in the driver’s seat of his parked vehicle in the 13900 block of Dwyer Road, the arrested juvenile suspect along with a second unknown black male subject approached the driver’s door of the victim’s vehicle. The subjects opened the driver’s door of the victim’s vehicle while armed with a firearm and proceeded to force the victim out the vehicle, causing the victim to fall from the vehicle onto the ground. After removing the victim from his vehicle, one of the subjects proceeded to enter the vehicle and flee the location, while the other met with three additional unknown individuals nearby and fled the scene with them in another vehicle.

The juvenile male was later identified as one of the perpetrators and subsequently arrested. He was booked into the Juvenile Justice Center for armed carjacking, armed robbery with a firearm and possession of stolen property.

Anyone with information regarding this incident, including the identity and whereabouts of the remaining suspects, is asked to contact NOPD Seventh District detectives at 504-658-6070, or to call anonymously to Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111 or toll-free at 1-877-903-STOP.
