Suspect Wanted in Armed Robbery Incident on Washington Avenue

The NOPD is investigating an armed robbery incident that occurred on Tuesday, (April 11) in the 4600 block of Washington Avenue.

The reporting person told police she was entering the business to cash her check when she noticed an unknown male subject loitering near the exit to the business. As the victim was exiting the business the subject approached her and advised he observed her cash a check. The subject implied that he had a gun and demanded the victim’s property. The victim complied and handed the suspect cash from her pocket. The suspect fled the scene on foot, heading southbound on Washington Avenue.

The perpetrator is described as a black male, approximately 6’2 tall, weighing at or around 315 pounds, with a bald head and a beard. He was wearing a white shirt and blue jeans during the incident. The subject is known to frequently hang near the intersection of S. Jeff Davis Parkway and Earhart Boulevard.
