Suspect Identified in Aggravated Assault with a Firearm, Damage to Property in Second District

The NOPD has obtained an arrest warrant for Antonio Phill (DOB: 05-06-1993) in connection with two incidents that occurred on April 1, 2018 in the Second District.

In speaking to witnesses and the victim, officers learned that the victim was sitting on the front porch of her residence in the 8500 block of Edinburg Street when a black Jeep Compass stopped in front of the residence. At that time, a known black male later identified as Phill allegedly exited the vehicle and pointed a handgun at the victim and threatened to kill the victim. The subject then re-entered the vehicle, which was reportedly being driven by a known female individual, and fled the scene.

As officers investigated this incident, they were notified of an incident involving the suspects in the 8800 block of Olive Street. Upon arrival, two victims told police that they were at a block party in the area when a black Jeep Compass stopped at the intersection of Olive and General Ogden streets. A known black male then reportedly began shouting obscenities from the vehicle, threatening to shoot people.  One of the victims told police he then entered his vehicle to leave the scene, at which time the Jeep reportedly followed him. The victim said he pulled over in the 8800 block of Edinburgh to allow the Jeep to pass, at which time the Jeep stopped and the male subject exited and approached the victim’s vehicle, punching the rear passenger side door of the vehicle while shouting obscenities. The subject then re-entered the Jeep and fled the scene on Edinburgh.

When located, Phill will be arrested for aggravated assault with a firearm and simple criminal damage to property.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Antonio Phill is asked to contact Second District detectives at 504-658-6020 or Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111 or toll-free at 1-877-903-STOP.
