Eighth District officers arrested Jeffery Anderson (DOB: 06-16-1997) on Thursday, (March 29) for illegal possession of a firearm and possession of marijuana.
Officers Joseph Herman and Lee Berry were patrolling in the 400 block of Bourbon Street when they encountered Anderson, who was observed smoking a hand rolled cigar containing marijuana. Officers confiscated the marijuana and a semi-automatic handgun loaded with a 30 round extended magazine, which contained 18 rounds of .40 caliber ammunition. During the search, officers also located a small piece of plastic containing additional marijuana.
Anderson was transported to the Orleans Justice Center and charged with illegal possession of a concealed firearm and illegal possession of marijuana.
