NOPD Investigating Fatal Shooting Involving Multiple Victims on Garden Oaks Drive

The NOPD is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred this evening (April 4, 2018) in the 3300 block of Garden Oaks Drive involving a total of four victims, including a juvenile.

At about 6:43 p.m., NOPD Fourth District officers responded to a call of an aggravated battery by shooting at an apartment complex in the area. Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male victim at the scene suffering from apparent gunshot injuries. The victim later died.

Officers later learned that a second adult male victim, as well as a female victim and a 17-month-old juvenile male victim – each reportedly suffering gunshot injuries in this incident – had arrived at area hospitals via private conveyance.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible in this incident, as well as motive. The extent of injuries sustained by the remaining victims is not currently available.

No further information is available at this time. The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will determine the decedent’s official cause of death and release the decedent’s name, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
