NOPD Identifies Suspect in Aggravated Assault Incident

The NOPD is searching for Branden Grant (DOB: 08-23-1995) who is wanted for his involvement in an aggravated assault incident that happened on Tuesday, (March 27).

Fourth District officers responded to a call of a residential burglary in the 1800 block of Mardi Gras Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers met with the victim who reported that she received a call from her bank requesting verification for a charge at Walmart store. The victim informed her bank that she was at work and did not make the charge. While on the phone with her bank, she was told that another credit card transaction was attempting to come through from Footaction in Oakwood mall.

The victim reported the incident to authorities in Jefferson Parish. During the investigation, officers reviewed surveillance footage and provided the victim with a description of the suspects who attempted to use the credit card. The first individual was described as a black male, wearing a purple LSU t-shirt and green nylon jogging pants. The second individual was described as a black female wearing a gray jumper. The victim then left the location and returned to her residence to wait on the police to file a burglary report.

While waiting for police, the victim observed her neighbor and Grant arrive to their residence and noticed that they matched the clothing description provided by the JPSO. The victim approached her neighbor and Grant and began an argument about breaking into her house. The verbal altercation lasted a few minutes until Grant went inside of a gray Pontiac G6 to retrieve a firearm and pointed it at the victim. Grant and his girlfriend got into their vehicle and fled the location.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to notify Fourth District detectives at 504-658-6040. Citizens with information that can help solve crimes are asked to call Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111 or toll-free at 1-877-903-STOP.
