VOWS Unit Apprehends Three

The NOPD’s Violent Offender Warrant Squad (VOWS) unit apprehended three suspects today. They are wanted for charges including sexual battery and aggravated assault.  

 

Chris Taylor (DOB: 9/17/1974) for aggravated assault with a firearm. The incident happened in the 7800 Block of Coronet Court on April 09, 2017, and Taylor was apprehended in the 1800 block of Tchoupitoulas Street.

 

Carlos Alberto  (DOB: 9/23/1980) for sexual battery. The incident occurred in the 2600 block of North Villere Street on March 27, 2017. He was arrested in the 3400 block of Cleveland Street.

 

Michelle Martin (DOB: 1/07/1995) for aggravated assault with a firearm and simple battery. The incident occurred in the 4500 block of Shalimar Drive on April 12, 2017, and she was arrested in the 4900 block of Werner Drive.

 

 

About VOWS

The Violent Offender Warrant Squad (VOWS) is responsible for tracking down individuals who are wanted for serious crimes and apprehending suspects with outstanding warrants. This unit operates within the NOPD’s Special Operations Division and works in conjunction with the United States Marshals Office Fugitive Task Force. In 2016 the unit was responsible for more than 500 arrests.
