VOWS Unit Apprehends Three Wanted for Multiple Offenses

The NOPD’s Violent Offender Warrant Squad (VOWS) unit apprehended two wanted 17-year-olds and an 18-year-old today.

 

Darnell Doucet (DOB:  4/25/98) for attempted armed robbery with a firearm, illegal discharge of a firearm while attempting to commit a crime of violence, and aggravated second degree battery. The incident occurred in the 7800 block of Parc Brittany Boulevard on March 31, 2017, and he was apprehended in the 3800 block of Havana Street.

 

Linden Andrews (7/26/99) for attempted armed robbery with a firearm, illegal discharge of a firearm while attempting to commit a crime of violence, and aggravated second degree battery. Andrews was arrested in the 7500 block of Crestmont Road and the incident occurred in the 7800 block of Parc Brittany Boulevard on March 31, 2017.

 

Dion Richard (DOB: 3/27/99) for attempted armed robbery with a firearm, illegal discharge of a firearm while attempting to commit a crime of violence, and aggravated second degree battery. The incident occurred in the 7800 block of Parc Brittany Boulevard on March 31, 2017, and Richard was apprehended today in the 100 block of Morrison Court.

The Violent Offender Warrant Squad (VOWS) is responsible for tracking down individuals who are wanted for serious crimes and apprehending suspects with outstanding warrants. This unit operates within the NOPD’s Special Operations Division and works in conjunction with the United States Marshals Office Fugitive Task Force. In 2016 the unit was responsible for more than 500 arrests.
