Suspect and Stolen Vehicle Sought in Carjacking on Dauphine

Suspect and Stolen Vehicle Sought in Carjacking on Dauphine

The NOPD is looking for a suspect and a vehicle taken during a carjacking in the 5000 block of Dauphine.

 

The victim reported that on Sunday, April 9, 2017, at approximately 9:30 p.m., an unknown black male wearing a ski mask tapped on the window of her car with a firearm and demanded she get out of the vehicle. The victim complied and the perpetrator fled with the vehicle.

 

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 24 years old, 5’8” tall with a slim build. He was armed with a blue steel Glock-style firearm.

 

The stolen vehicle is a black, four-door 2017 Jeep Patriot with Texas license plate number JBC 7038. A photo of a similar make and model vehicle is included.

Carjacking

Louisiana law states that Individuals convicted of carjacking shall be imprisoned at hard labor for not less than two years and for not more than 20 years, without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence.
