NOPD Investigating a Homicide on Michoud

NOPD Investigating a Homicide on Michoud

The NOPD is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred today (April 28, 2017) on Michoud Boulevard near the Interstate 10 East exit road.

At about 7:22 a.m., Seventh District officers responded to a call of a male down in the area. Upon arrival, officers discovered an unresponsive unidentified adult male victim, about 35-40 years-old lying in the wooded area, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.  

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible in this incident, as well as a motive.

The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will determine official cause of death and release the victim's name, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
