The NOPD is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred today (April 5, 2017) at the intersection of Marais Street at Andry Street.
At about 3:28 a.m., Fifth District officers responded to a call of an individual down at the intersection. Upon arrival, officers discovered an unresponsive male victim lying on the sidewalk suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigation into the incident is ongoing. No further information is available at this time. The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will determine official cause of death and release the victim's name, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
