NOPD Investigates a Homicide in the Second District

NOPD is investigating a homicide that took place at Freret and Peniston streets yesterday (April 12).

 

At 6:54 p.m. Second District officers responded to an aggravated battery by shooting at the intersection of Peniston and Freret. Upon arrival the officers observed a white, four-door Acura in the 3700 block of Freret. Officers discovered a 26-year-old black male in the driver’s seat suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. EMS arrived on the scene and transported the victim to University Medical Center where he later expired.

 

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Officer identifies victims and cause of death.
