NOPD Identifies Suspect in Attempted Homicide on General Ogden Street

The NOPD has obtained an arrest warrant for Randal Schaffer (DOB: 02-07-1992) in connection with an attempted homicide that occurred on April 5, 2017 in the 4200 block of General Ogden Street.

At about 3:15 p.m., Third District officers responded to a call of an aggravated battery by shooting in the area. Upon arrival, officers discovered an unknown black male lying in a yard and suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

As investigation into the incident progressed, detectives identified Schaffer as the suspect who allegedly shot the victim.

When located, Schaffer will be arrested on charges of attempted second-degree homicide and illegal carrying of a weapon.
