NOPD Arrests Suspect in Attempted Carjacking, Armed Robbery

The NOPD has arrested Danny Doxon (DOB: 6-27-88) for attempted carjacking and armed robbery.

 

On April 3, 2017, an attempted carjacking involving the driver of a ride-hailing service took place in the 3200 block of Bienville. The victim reported that two armed male suspects tried to take his vehicle and he fired his weapon at the perpetrators, striking one of them. The suspects then fled on foot.

 

Later that day an unknown male, later identified as Doxon, arrived at Ochsner Medical Center by private conveyance. He was suffering from a gunshot wound.

 

Through subsequent investigation, Doxon was identified as the perpetrator of the attempted carjacking and armed robbery. He was arrested on April 11, 2017, by First District detectives Sherife Davis and Decynda Chambers.

Armed Robbery

In Louisiana, an armed robbery conviction requires the offender to be imprisoned at hard labor for 10 – 99 years, without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence. When a firearm is used in the commission of the crime, the offender will be imprisoned for an additional 5 years that will be served consecutively to the original sentence.
