This Saturday, December 10, residents and visitors are once again invited to come out to participating McDonald’s restaurant locations in New Orleans for “Coffee with Cops”. 

For the third consecutive year, the NOPD is partnering with Arnaud’s Restaurant and the New Orleans Police and Justice Foundation (NOPJF) for its annual teddy bear drive where NOPD officers will be given the opportunity to hand over a fuzzy, stuffed animal to a child they encounter while responding to calls on duty.

For the past three years, a TV film crew with A&E’s “The First 48” has followed most homicide investigations in New Orleans from start to finish, embedding with detectives and documenting their progress in solving the crimes.

Today (Nov. 29), you have an opportunity to support a program that provides NOPD officers with the resources to pursue a degree in higher education as part of Giving Tuesday, a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration.

As many NOPD officers are seen throughout the city in four-wheeled patrol units, training is currently underway to make sure that additional officers will be seen on two wheels for future assignments, including many large-scale events such as the upcoming Carnival Season and 2017 NBA All-Star Game.
