NOPD Arrests Suspects on Weapons, Drug Charges in Second District

The NOPD has arrested Joshua Meyers (pictured at top, black male, DOB: 02-08-1990), David Louis IV (pictured at bottom, male, DOB: 03-21-2003) and a 17-year-old juvenile male on drug and weapons charges in an incident on October 14, 2021 at the intersection of General Ogden and Forshey streets.

On the listed date, NOPD Second District officers were conducting an investigation in the area. During this investigation, a subject later positively identified as Meyers was observed conducting multiple hand-to-hand narcotics transactions. Meyers and two other subjects, later positively identified as Louis and the juvenile suspect, were seen entering a vehicle prior to making the transactions. Officers stopped the vehicle. Upon execution of a search warrant, officers searched the vehicle and located two firearms, marijuana, crack cocaine and cash.

Meyers was booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center for illegal carrying of weapons while in possession of a controlled dangerous substance. Louis was booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center for possession of both marijuana and crack cocaine with intent to distribute. The juvenile suspect was booked into the Juvenile Justice Center.
