NOPD Identifies Wanted Suspect in Homicide Investigation

NOPD Identifies Wanted Suspect in Homicide Investigation

The NOPD is seeking assistance from the public in locating Michael Hall (pictured, black male, DOB: 03-10-1982) in its investigation of a homicide that occurred on August 24, 2025, in the 600 block of Iberville Street.

At about 3:12 a.m. on August 24, NOPD Eighth District officers responded to a call of a shooting at the intersection of Royal and Iberville streets. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male subject who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported via EMS to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

On August 27, the Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 23-year-old Darnell Causey and determined preliminary cause of death to be from gunshot-related injury.

Through investigation, NOPD Homicide Section detectives developed and positively identified Michael Hall as a perpetrator in this incident. Hall is currently wanted on one count of second-degree murder.

All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
