NOPD Announces Preliminary Crime Statistics for September 21-27, 2025

The following is a weekly report of citywide crime statistics compiled by the NOPD Analytics Unit for the period of September 21-27, 2025.

Notable arrests made

During the listed week, the NOPD also made the following notable arrest(s):

  • On September 24, the NOPD arrested Feliciana Winniford (black female, DOB: 02-08-1987) in its investigation of a homicide that occurred on September 23, 2025, in the 300 block of North Rampart Street. Winniford was located in the Sixth District and was arrested and booked on one count of second-degree murder.
  • On September 24, the NOPD arrested Wallace Gilmore (black male, DOB: 09-22-1976) in its investigation of a homicide that occurred on September 22, 2025, in the 2700 block of Lasalle Street, in the Sixth District. Gilmore was located in the Sixth District and was arrested and booked on one count of second-degree murder.
  • On September 25, the NOPD’s Violent Offender Warrant Squad, Louisiana State Police and the U.S. Marshals Service arrested Coleman Vickers (white male, DOB; 06-11-1983) in its investigation of a homicide that occurred on August 14, 2025, in the 2100 block of Decatur Street. Vickers was located in the Fifth District and was arrested and booked on one count of second-degree murder, as well as on charges from Louisiana State Police.

Gun arrests (arrests made under LA RS 14:95 and sub-items)

Year to date, the NOPD has made 201 arrests for illegal possession of a firearm. This is a 19-percent decrease compared to 350 arrests made during the same period in 2024.

Gun seizures

Additionally, as of September 22, the NOPD in 2025 had seized 1,369 firearms in criminal investigations, a 43-percent decrease compared to 1,683 such seizures made during the same period in 2024.
