The New Orleans Police Department’s Homicide Section has arrested 24-year-old Chante Mark in connection with the murder of a 29-year-old woman.
The offense occurred on September 1, 2024, shortly before 3:00 a.m., at the intersection of Baudin and South Solomon Streets.
This incident stemmed from a large fight that occurred in the parking lot of the Shamrock Bar and Grill, located in the 4100 block of South Carrollton Avenue.
Through investigation, Detective James Fyfe positively identified Chante Mark as the person responsible for the murder and secured an arrest warrant.
On September 4, 2024, investigators located Mark at a hotel located in Chalmette, Louisiana. Mark has since been booked into the Orleans Justice Center.
All persons are presumed innocent until proven guity.
The investigation is ongoing, and more arrests are imminent.
The investigation was a concerted effort by members of the New Orleans Police Department’s Homicide, Special Operations Division, Violent Crime Abatement Investigation Team, Louisiana State Police, and the Saint Bernard Parish Sherriff’s Office.
