NOPD Seeking Suspect, Victim Vehicles in Third District Armed Carjacking Incident

The NOPD is seeking to locate both the suspect vehicle and the victim vehicle involved in an armed carjacking incident that occurred on August 31, 2022, in the 4100 block of South Carrollton Avenue.

At about 11:34 p.m., the victim approached her vehicle – a red 2019 Hyundai Elantra bearing Florida license plate LDDW65 (stock photo of similar vehicle pictured) – in the parking lot of a business in the 4100 block of South Carrollton Avenue. At that time, an armed unknown black male reportedly exited a silver newer model Honda Civic (pictured) parked next to the victim’s vehicle. The suspect then allegedly pointed a firearm at the victim and demanded the victim’s vehicle. The victim complied and the suspect fled in the victim’s vehicle, followed by another subject operating the suspect vehicle.

Anyone with additional information on this incident is asked to contact NOPD Third District detectives at 504-658-6030 or call anonymously to Crimestoppers of Greater New Orleans at 504-822-1111 or toll-free 1-877-903-STOP.
