The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred today (September 3, 2022) at the intersection of Murl and Magellan streets that left one person dead.
At about 2:32 p.m., NOPD Fourth District officers responded to a call of a shooting at the location. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male subject under a bridge having sustained a gunshot wound(s). The victim was transported via EMS to a local hospital, where he was declared deceased.
Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive. No additional details are currently available.
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victim and official cause of death upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
