NOPD Investigates First District Homicide

NOPD Investigates First District Homicide

Early this morning, members of the New Orleans Police Department are investigating the Homicide of an unknown male. The name of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of family members. The offense occurred around 3:40 a.m at the intersection of North Claiborne Avenue and Esplanade Avenue.

According to investigators, First District officers received a call of a man shot and upon their arrival, officers found the victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to his body. Emergency Medical Technicians declared the victim deceased shortly after. 

No further information is available at this time. The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will determine official cause of death and release the victim’s name upon completion of autopsy and notification of family members.
