ORIGINAL RELEASE: The NOPD is seeking to locate and identify an individual believed to be responsible for a carjacking that occurred in the 1300 block of Canal Street on September 7, 2017.
At about 1:38 p.m., an employee of a car rental business was vacuuming a gray 2017 BMW BX3R bearing Louisiana license plate #N418568 with the engine running behind the business when the pictured unknown subject approached. The subject implied that he had a gun, at which time the victim moved away from the vehicle and the subject entered the running vehicle, fleeing northbound on Canal Street.
