Suspect Arrested for Aggravated Assault with Firearm, Criminal Damage to Property on Downman & Morrison Road

NOPD Seventh District officers arrested Charles Hayes (DOB: 11-30-1995) on Thursday (Sept. 7) after he reportedly fired shots at the victim's vehicle. 

 At around 11:45 a.m.,  Hayes was involved in a verbal altercation with a subject at the intersection of Downman and Morrison Road. While both parties were waiting for the traffic light to change in their vehicles, the victim attempted to leave the location in his vehicle. However, Hayes began following the victim down Downman Road and fired multiple shots from his vehicle striking the victim’s back tires.

Both subjects relocated to 8020 Downman Road in their vehicles where Hayes was arrested on scene. He was booked with aggravated assault with a firearm, illegal use of weapons and aggravated criminal damage to property.
