NOPD Investigating Shooting at Elysian Fields and North Claiborne Avenues

The NOPD is investigating a shooting in the early hours today (September 10, 2017) at the intersection of Elysian Fields Avenue and North Claiborne Avenue that left four people wounded.

At about 1:46 a.m., Fifth District officers responded to a call of an aggravated battery by shooting in the area. Upon arrival, officers discovered four people - three females and one male - outside of a night club suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The victims were transported via EMS to area hospitals for treatment. A fourth female who reported being shot was transported via EMS, but she was found not to have suffered a gunshot wound.

Investigation into the incident is ongoing. No further information is available at this time.
