Suspect Sought For Attempted Second Degree Murder On North Tonti

The NOPD is looking for a suspect wanted for attempted second degree murder.

On September 30, 2016, at approximately 1:28 a.m., NOPD Fifth District officers responded to a call of an aggravated battery by cutting incident in the 2000 block of North Tonti Street. Upon arrival they discovered the victim lying on a porch covered in blood. He had been stabbed multiple times including once in the neck.

Through subsequent investigation officers learned that the victim and Henry Barthe (DOB: 2-26-1957) had been engaged in a verbal argument that turned physical. Barthe reportedly pulled a knife and stabbed the victim several times before fleeing the scene.
