NOPD Arrests Burglary Suspect On Aurora Drive

NOPD officers quickly apprehended and arrested Kirk Severin (DOB: 8/9/1959) this morning (Sept. 20) after he was seen stealing items from residences along Aurora Drive.

At around 5:00 a.m., a witness observed Kirk Severin in a yard in the 100 block of Aurora Drive. Severin was seen removing items from a detached garage and placing them in a cart. When Fourth District officers arrived, Severin led officers on a brief foot chase through the backyards of several residences but officers were able to apprehend him in the 6200 block of Oxford Place.

Officers confiscated multiple stolen items in Severin’s possession including a handgun that was reported stolen along Oxford Place. He is being charged with simple burglary, illegal possession of stolen items and flight from an officer.
