NOPD Searching for Suspects in Armed Robbery and Carjacking on A.P. Turead Ave

The NOPD needs the public’s help in locating and identifying two suspects responsible for an armed robbery and carjacking. The incident happened on September 2, 2016.

At around 12:30 a.m., the victim was driving with his girlfriend in a white 2003 Ford Windstar van in the 2500 block of A.P. Tureaud Avenue.  While driving, the victim noticed his car’s warning light flashing and decided to exit his vehicle and inspect his rear tire. While checking the tire, an unknown black male approached the victim with a handgun from the back. A second male then approached the front passenger seat with a handgun. Both perpetrators then stood by the victim demanding that he empty his pockets. The victim compiled and gave the men his wallet, watch, bracelet and cash. The two subjects then ordered both victims to step away from the vehicle. The two individuals were then seen driving off in the victim’s vehicle toward North Broad Street.

Through the course of the investigation, police recovered the victim's vehicle on Mon. (Sept. 5) in the 3900 block of 4th Street.

One of the suspects is being described as a black male about 5’10” with a slim build and a low fade hairstyle. He was seen wearing a white shirt, black pants and was armed with a silver and black semi-automatic handgun.

The other suspect is described as a black male about 5’8” with a slim build and dark complexion. He was seen wearing a camouflage hooded jacket, dark pants and was armed with a black semi-automatic weapon.
