NOPD Investigating Cutting Incident at Mandeville and North Derbigny Streets with Multiple Victims

The NOPD is investigating a cutting incident today (Sept. 19) at the intersection of Mandeville and North Derbigny Streets that left four victims wounded, including a nine-month-old baby.

At about 3:15 p.m., NOPD Fifth District officers responded to a call of a disturbance in the area. Upon arrival, officers learned that a fight had occurred between two groups of individuals at the location. During the altercation, members of one group brandished knives and another from the same group fired gunshots.

During the incident, a total of four victims suffered non-life threatening injuries from the knives. The victims included three females and one male, one of which was a nine-month-old female.

No injuries were reported from the gunfire in the incident.

No arrests have been made at this time. Investigation into the incident is ongoing and detectives are actively working to obtain any available surveillance video.
