NOPD Investigating a Homicide on Newton Street

The NOPD is investigating a fatal shooting in the 1400 block of Newton Street today (Sept.17) which took the life of an unidentified female victim and injured an unidentified male victim.

 

At about 1:50 p.m., NOPD Fourth District officers responded to a call of an aggravated battery by shooting in the 1400 block of Newton Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered an unresponsive female victim inside of a vehicle, front passenger seat and suffering from a gunshot wound to the body and a male victim in the driver seat suffering from a gunshot wound to the body   The victims were transported to a local hospital where the female passenger was later pronounced dead, at which point the incident was reclassified as a homicide.

 

Investigation into the incident is ongoing. No further information is available at this time.
