Second Suspect Identified in Armed Robbery, Aggravated Kidnapping, Aggravated Assault in Seventh District

The NOPD has obtained an arrest warrant for Nathan Banks (DOB: 10-06-1986), the second of two suspects wanted in connection with an incident on September 2, 2016 that involved armed robbery, aggravated kidnapping and aggravated assault.

At about 9:15 a.m., Banks and his accomplice, identified as Shawn Moore (DOB: 05-26-1996) are believed to have jumped into the victim’s vehicle as he sat in a parking lot near the intersection of Chef Menteur Highway and America Street. The suspects then ordered the victim to drive to several ATMs in the Seventh District and withdraw money. The suspects then ordered the victim to drive around and they passed three subjects walking on Dwyer Road near Crowder Road. Moore is believed to have then leaned out of the window of the vehicle and fired several shots at the subjects with a handgun. After the victim pleaded for his life, the suspects let him exit the vehicle before they fled in the vehicle on Dwyer Road. The victim’s vehicle was recovered a short time later.
