ORIGINAL RELEASE:

The NOPD is seeking the public’s assistance with locating a suspect in its investigation of a reported simple kidnapping incident that occurred this evening (October 22, 2025) in Orleans Parish.

At about 6:34 p.m., an adult male identified as Braydon Nix (pictured, black male, DOB: 01-26-2006) reportedly took his and the victim’s 10-month old biological infant child while the two were at a residence in the 3700 block of Washington Avenue. A physical altercation then occurred, after which Nix – the child’s non-custodial father – left the area on foot with the child headed west on South Rocheblave Street.

The victim advised that there was an active protective order in place preventing Nix from coming into contact with her and their child.

Nix was last seen wearing a white long-sleeved shirt, dark green long pants, white shoes and a black skull cap.

The infant child, identified as 5-month-old Braylon Parker (black male), is described as having a bald head and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing blue clothing and wrapped in a blue blanket.

Louisiana State Police have also issued an Amber Alert regarding this incident.

Nix is currently wanted on one count of simple kidnapping in this incident. Additionally, he is actively wanted on one count each of simple robbery and of domestic abuse battery (pregnant victim) in connection with a previous incident.

All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Anyone with additional information that can assist in locating Braydon Nix and Braylon Parker is urged to call 911 immediately.
