UPDATE: The second victim in this incident (driver of the Chevrolet Camaro) has been pronounced deceased at a local hospital.

Investigation into the incident is ongoing. No additional information is currently available.

The NOPD is investigating a fatal vehicle crash that occurred today (October 23, 2025) at the intersection of Morrison Road and Read Boulevard, in the Seventh District.

At about 10:23 a.m., NOPD Seventh District officers responded to a call of a vehicle crash at the location. Upon arrival and further investigation, it was determined that a white BMW SUV was traveling eastbound on Morrison Road when it collided in the intersection with a black Chevrolet Camaro traveling southbound on Read Boulevard. The driver of the BMW was declared deceased on scene, while the driver of the Camaro was transported via EMS to a local hospital.

Investigation into the incident is ongoing. No additional information is currently available.

The deceased individual’s identity and official cause of death will be determined and released by the Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office upon completion of autopsy.
